Building the Dream Urban Farm
Macy Intermediate currently has a ¼ acre working garden in place right now. Located street side, in front of the school, the high profile garden is popular with students and the neighborhood. The district see’s the positive impact urban farming has is committed to creating a covered outdoor classroom, greenhouse, lath/shade house, compost center fed by the cafeteria, irrigation learning center, cistern to capture garden runoff/rain/air conditioning water, orchard, vines, keyhole garden, mini-farm, farmers market and much more.
