Bleach

11/16/2015

Disgusting mildew, filthy algae and fungus galore in the yard and garden.  How to deal with it. Algae and moss seem to cling to shaded paths and the best way to deal with it is with common household bleach.
Whip up a batch of bleach for many of your gardening needs.  In fact, I always keep a 10% solution (one part bleach, nine parts water) on hand for multiple purposes.

On that path we just talked about, spray right on the step stones and the problems disappears right before your eyes.

When repotting from one container to another spray the bleach solution to kill off disease that can be transferred to your plant.

When pruning diseased wood from a plant, spritz your pruning tools before going on to the next plant so you don’t transfer anything to a healthy plant.

To prolong cut flower life, ad a teaspoon of bleach to your vase to keep bacteria away.
