Coffee plant needs to stay alive

8/12/2022

Question:  I have a coffee plant that I barely kept alive last year. This year, I want to do better. It's in a pot on the patio in full sun, can you give me some tips?

NICK: Growing your own coffee is a lot of fun. However, don't expect to get much more than a cup out of a push. Because it takes a lot of beans in order for that thing to produce enough, so that you can sip away on America’s most favorite beverage. That notwithstanding, they need protection. Full sun's not good. Morning sun, okay. If you have a full sun situation, make sure there's plants that are growing around it. The other thing is they don't like wind. Wind will inhibit them from producing anything. And remember to keep the soil moist, but not wet.
