Dandelions

12/21/2015

Real soon there will be a nasty weed that will seem to take over the whole neighborhood and you have the choice of killing it, controlling it or eating it! Blink your eyes and before you know it the dreaded dandelion will poke its way through your lawn, between driveway cracks, and all over the yard and garden.
If you're on top of it, you can head it off by applying a pre-emergent herbicide, like team or gallery, to lawn and turf areas for season long control.

Where dandelions poke through concrete and every other place you'd never think a weed could grow, spray with a mild solution of a glyphosate.

And when your garden gets inundated which dandelions, why not cultivate it as an edible food crop.

Dandelions have been a staple in French cuisine for years.  They have a nutty flavor that greens add to any salad and sautéed roots are a delicacy.

Just don't let your dandelions flower, otherwise they will turn bitter.
