Hummingbirds

Do you hear that?  It’s a clicking sound.  Do you know what it is.  I do.  If you listen real closely you can hear the clicking sound of a hummingbird.

Hummingbirds are wonderful little critters that can even amaze the like of a kid who’s constantly glued to the boob tube or mindless video game.

And, hummingbirds are great pollinators for the yard and garden so attracting them is important.  Start off with the obvious.  A hummingbird feeder.

These are glass and plastic gismos that host a bright red fake flower with homemade sugar nectar from which hummingbirds can feed themselves.

They flap their wings so many times a minute they use up energy very quickly and need a boost of energy to keep ‘em going.

Now start to plan to attract hummingbirds the au’ natural way with flowers.

Like, tubular flowers are best.  They include:  cape honeysuckle, red-hot poker plants and hibiscus.  Not so tubular but equally attracting are bottlebrush and zinnia.
