Lady Bugs or Lady Beetles

Ladybugs or ladybird beetles.  Whatever you call them they’re great for the yard and garden.  However, they're not without their problems. Ladybugs have nothing to do with Volkswagens or the love bug – though they are a lovable insect.
Ladybugs are important in the yard and garden.

They have a knack for munching down and eliminating aphid population feasting on your favorite plants.

Ladybugs can be attracted to the yard by placing ladybug attractants available from your nursery or you buy live ladybugs by the thousands.

They come in pint size containers that are then released near aphid infested plants early in the morning.

The only problem is, when ladybugs are released they become disoriented, they get their wits about them in an hour or two.  Then bee line it one mile up in the sky, open their wings then float down wherever wind currents take them.

So the chance they’ll land back in your yard are slim.
