Oily Driveway

12/29/2015

You can have the best looking landscape in the neighborhood but if you have unsightly oil stains on your driveway it draws away from your landscape. If I can brag, I have an awesome futuristic landscape with a rustic feel at my house.
One day a television crew came over to do some filming with me.  The segment turned out great, I'm so photogenic you know, but more people commented on how messy the driveway was with all the oil my old clunker leaves behind.

So, I decided to do something about it.  First, I picked up an oil absorbent that is designed to slurp oil up like a sponge.

Next, I used oil-eating microbes.  These are the same microorganisms that are used to clean-up oil spills on a large-scale basis.  Those two steps took care of the oil, but not the stains.

It was time to rent a hot pressure washer with 3000 pounds per square inch of force.  I filled the tank with a degreaser and blasted away.  It took the stain right out.  Now my driveway stays oil free with all attention on the overall picture.
