Sprouts

How would you like to sit back watch the grass grow?  Really! Short winter days and long nights doesn't make the best gardening season.
Especially with rain, sleet, snow and all those other elements that make like life miserable.

Well, stop your sniveling, let us start growing - alfalfa, broccoli, kale, beans, radishes and wheat - sprouts.

Sprouts are a big thing nowadays. You'll find them in grocery and health food stores in the produce section or, you can grow them yourself.

It only takes 3 to 5 days for sprouts to sprout and you can grow them all year around without soil.

Start off with a quart jar and screened lid.  Place the tiny seeds in the jar covering the bottom.  Put the screened lid on, fill with water - wash and drain leaving the seeds on the side of the bottle.

Put the jar in an out of the way place in the kitchen and repeat the process two times a day.  When the sprouts get 2 - 3 inches long - eat them!
