Tea Candle Planter

10/23/2015

Picture
This is a garden inspired decoration that makes a great addition to your outdoor patio table and it costs under $5.  Who says you need to spend a lot of money to make something that looks great?

What you need:

1.  8 in. x 2-1/4 in. x 4 in. Clay Brick.
These bad boys are only like $0.35 at Home Depot
(On TV we substituted this for a 1ft piece of garden railing because it was so much easier to drill.  If you're super handy then go with the brick.)

2. Tea Candle
Typically these come in a box of 12 for around $10.  These come in a bunch of different colors and scents.  You can get fancy and use battery powered ones which is recommended if you're inside.

3. Candle Jar
99 cent store baby!

4. Drill and Drill Bit
If you don't have a drill then borrow one.  It will take way too long with a hammer and chisel.  As far as the drill bit goes, you'll need to consult with your local hardware store and they can hook you up with the right one based on the material you use.  Drill bits can get very expensive but keep in mind that you can use them for future projects.

5. Last but not least, Flowers!
For this project we decided to go with succulents because they are small and have character, plus there's lots of different kinds to choose from.

Voila!
