Wood ash has a multiple of uses in the yard and garden. Who would of thought that burned up wood ashes would be a great companion for the yard and garden.
Sprinkle a ring of wood ash around the base of plants that are susceptible to snails.  Snails smell escargot from the ash and won’t cross the line.

Wood ash is high in potassium and potassium is necessary for keeping plants disease free.  Sprinkle some nail free wood ash around your plants, work into the soil and gets your plants to some disease free living.

Another use for wood ash is with chickens.  Chickens bath themselves by rolling around dirt.  When wood ash is available, chickens will flutter through the ashes to get rid of parasites living on their bodies.

Finally, use only wood ash in and around the yard and garden.

Briquette ash from your barbecue has chemicals in it that can damage plants.
