Project Youth Grow

1/17/2017

Picture
Teach a child urban farming and they'll never go hungry. We are on a journey teaching urban youth  the magic of urban farming and gardening  Project Youth Grow.  In cooperation with local middle and high schools we engage students on how to properly grow a garden, harvest and process their crops in an urban environment.  Our curriculum has already ushered students to continue what they have learned to higher education.

Project Youth Grow Mission

Project Youth Grow is a hands-on student learning workshop teaching basic urban farming skills that are shared via a television segment on the award winning television show, Things Green with Nick Federoff, a 6-day a week PBS television series.  The TV show is accessed daily on PBS|KLCS Create TV 58.3 at 1:30PM in southern California, on-line access for school classes nationwide on our Things Green Project Youth Grow page.

Benefits for Students

In addition to urban farming life skills are introduced with vocational training on proper tool use, fertilization practices, irrigation disciplines and the list goes on.  In fact, we even teach students how to use our state-of-the-art camera equipment to help with supervised filming and still photography.

Guest Experts

Guest experts are also included within the curriculum from tradesmen, 5-star chefs to help prepare their harvest and even certified nutritionists are involved with life changing knowledge.  In other words, no stone is unturned.
